Mary-Jo Estes

Fellowship Committee Co-Chair

Mary-Jo Estes (right) and Jeanne Castello, Fellowship Committee co-chairs, take a short break from the serving line at Carl Crosier’s farewell reception.

My idea of a perfect day is... reading a good book and having a supply of crossword and sudoku puzzles handy.

I am happiest when... I am with my family and friends.

My last meal would be... Italian with a side order of lutefisk and lefse.

I stay at LCH because... I am able to grow in my faith supported by a genuinely caring and inspiring church community.

I was born in Minneapolis, MN, grew up in a very small town in Montana, and spent many summers back in the Midwest with my aunt, uncle and cousins. I came to Hawai‘i on vacation one summer and when fall came along, I had a job teaching for the DOE. By the time I retired, from that very first school, I had taught two generations of children. I am now enjoying exploring all the opportunities retirement has to offer.
