The Lutheran Church of Honolulu in collaboration with The NAMES Project Foundation, Hawaii Islands Chapter, announces display of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in observance of the 19th Annual International World AIDS Day, and in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the AIDS Memorial Quilt.

Schedule of Events

9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt on display
9:00 AM Opening Hawaiian Chant by Kaipo Kurch
  Opening Worship led by LCH Pastor Jeff Lilley
10:00 AM and ongoing
throughout the day
Quilt Panel making and Red Ribbon Lei making led by Linda Miller and members of LCH’s In Stitches group
11:00 AM Meditation Tunes with David Braaten and his bass recorder
  Other displays, performances, prayers, etc.
1:45 PM “Ave Maria ” by Georgine Stark
  Other displays, performances, prayers, etc.
5:00 PM Hawai‘i Vocal Arts Ensemble under the direction of Tim Carney

On December 2, the display of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be open during Sunday Services at 8:00 AM, 10:30 AM, and during the Advent Procession at 7:30 PM.

The organizers are still accepting volunteers for the open evening slots (between 7:00 and 9:00 PM) on December 1.
