The Church Council provides leadership to the Lutheran Church of Honolulu
According to the Constitution of LCH, the Church Council “shall have general oversight of the life and activities of this congregation, and in particular its worship life, to the end that everything be done in accordance with the Word of God and the faith and practice of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.” The duties of the Council are described in the bylaws.
The Council is made up not more than twelve voting members elected by the congregation and all called pastors (unless prohibited by state laws governing non-profit corporations). Members normally serve staggered three-year terms. Current members are listed below along with the month their terms end and their committee liaisons. Click on any member’s name for a picture and personal information.
The Council generally meets on the third Tuesday of each month. The table below shows meeting dates for the current year; the member responsible for devotions and dinner each month; and links to agendas, minutes, and reports from recent meetings.
