From Pastor Jeff

Living Together

Pastor Jeff LilleyEach Wednesday evening during Lent, several LCH folks gather together to study Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s volume, “Life Together.” Early in the first chapter, he reminds the reader, “It is not simply to be taken for granted that the Christian has the privilege of living among other Christians.” He notes that many Christians are unable to gather with others because of physical limitations, economic or political barriers, or simple inconvenience. He reminds us that the ability to gather in prayer, song, worship, and fellowship with other believers is something to be savored and cherished. When we become dissatisfied or disillusioned with our Christian community, he urges us to remember that we gather for the sake of Christ. It is in Christ that we have our strength, our joy, and the privilege of living together.
