Give Aloha A Success

Give Aloha graphicMahalo to everyone who supported LCH through the Give Aloha Program sponsored by Foodland and Western Union. We received notice that LCH is once again in the top 100 recipients of giving and raised over $6,000 in donations!

LutherFest!!

You won’t want to miss out on this Saturday’s LutherFest—our biggest party of the year—as we celebrate the non-liturgical side of our Lutheran heritage with fun, food, fellowship, frivolity, and foolishness. Bring your family and bring your friends. All are welcome.

The evening begins at 5:30 with pupus in the Courtyard. Along with non-alcoholic selections, LCH wine and beer will be available for donations. Sr. Peggy will be selling indulgences along with LutherBucks, which can be used for drink donations and voting for a talent show winner. Peggy will have a receipt book to record your cash donation, or you can write a check. Your donations will be recorded on your annual statement of giving, and all funds raised at LutherFest will go towards the renewal of the back parking lot.

Dinner is a potluck with an Italian-theme, so come hungry (and with something delicioso to share). Please do not bring desserts, which will be provided by the Fellowship Committee.

Following dinner will be the “LCH’s Got Talent” talent show. We have seven fun acts lined up for the contest—three in the keiki category and four “over confirmation age.” Winners will be decided by popular vote during dessert. Just drop your dollars or your LutherBucks in the containers on the way to the dessert line.

LutherFest is the party of the year. Be there!

Reformation Day—Sunday, October 31

Every good Lutheran knows that Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the church door on October 31, 1517, so join us for the proper liturgical celebration of that day on October 31, 2010.

We’ll sing “A Mighty Fortress,” and there is a rumor about a door and nails in the Nave. Wear your red to complement our stunning red paraments.

All Saints Sunday—November 7

With so much going on at church, this year’s All Saints Sunday has snuck up on us. On All Saints Sunday you will again have the opportunity to remember a deceased loved one by speaking their name and lighting a candle in the worship during the prayers of the community.

Please contact the church office as soon as possible with names you would like to have printed in the special bulletin insert that day and join us for this special remembrance.
