Fall Worship Schedule Begins this Sunday

LCH will return to a regular worship schedule beginning this Sunday, August 15. The worship schedule will be:

Photovoltaic Energy Online

Early in August, contractors finished work on the LCH photovoltaic system. Located on the roof of the office building, preschool office, and Isenberg Hall, the system—composed of dozens of photovoltaic panels—converts sun energy into electrical energy. The DC electrical energy is then inverted and used to power the church during the day!

Confirmation Begins August 20

LCH Confirmation instruction is about to begin! Any youth who is not yet confirmed—and is at minimum entering the 6th grade this Fall—is eligible to begin confirmation instruction. If your child is older and would like to join us, they are strongly encouraged to do so. Our program seeks to help young people develop spiritually in an enjoyable, fun atmosphere of peer discussion, Bible study, and weekly classes with Pastors Jeff Lilley, Tim Mason, and Kevin Kline.

Confirmation classes will generally be held on three Wednesday evenings each week at Calvary by the Sea Lutheran Church in Aina Haina. Dinner begins at 6:00 PM followed by class from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. One Sunday per month, the 5 congregations gather for a joint confirmation event from 3:00 to 5:00 at one of our area churches. The full confirmation schedule is available on the LCH website.

Our kick off retreat for Confirmation 2010–2011 will be an overnight retreat at Christ Lutheran Church, Mililani on August 20–21. View the retreat flyer.

I hope you will enroll your young person in confirmation at Lutheran Church of Honolulu. Please call the church office and let us know if your child would like to participate in confirmation. Reservations for the retreat may be called in to Christ Lutheran Mililani.
