LCH E-News—April 1, 2011Lenten Worship Wednesday EveningPlease join us Wednesday, April 6, for the next Lenten Soup Supper and Evening prayer. We begin with a simple meal of soup, salad and bread in the Hörmann Courtyard at 6:00 PM. You are then welcome to Holden Evening Prayer at 7:00 PM in the Nave. Immediately following worship, there is an opportunity to engage in our Lenten Book Study on prayer in the Boardroom. Lenten Midweek Services at LCH

The children and youth are asking you to make a pledge or donation of at least $1 day during the Lenten season ($40 total). Right now we are about half way to our goal of $5,000! A pledge sheet will be available on Sundays in the courtyard, or you can write a check to LCH with “Heifer Fundraiser” written in the memo line. For more information, please see Reid or Anna Womack. Seder Meal on April 17On April 17 (Palm Sunday) at 9:15 between services, the children of the Sunday School will again host a Seder meal in Isenberg Hall. This is a traditional part of our Easter preparation in the Lutheran Church of Honolulu. The Seder meal is the meal of Passover Jesus was celebrating with his followers when he first gave us the Eucharist. It is the Old Testament remembrance of God's special relationship with His people and His freeing of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. Missy and Sophie in Anything GoesMissy H. and Sophie H. will be appearing in the middle-school musical Anything Goes at Punahou School. Showtimes are: April 8, 9, and 15 at 7:30 PM April 16 at 1:00 PM Tickets can be purchased at the Sullivan Administration Building Box Office on the Punahou campus March 29 and 30 and April 4 and 5 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Tickets can also be purchased one hour before the performance. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors (over 65).
