Lent V—April 6, 2014

Preacher: Pastor Angela Freeman
Summary: This conch shell used to be the house of a creature in the sea, but now it’s empty. Our lesson from Romans tells us that we are a dwelling place for God’s spirit. You are never alone because God dwells with you always.

Lent IV—March 30, 2014

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: In today’s Gospel, Jesus heals a man who was blind. Jesus helps him see that he is a child of God’s light and to see who Jesus is. God calls each of you to see Jesus and to know that you are also children of God’s light.

Lent I—March 9, 2014

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: In today’s Gospel, Jesus goes into the wilderness and fasts for forty days, so he is very hungry, and Satan tempts him to turn stones into bread. You might have done it, but Jesus doesn’t need to prove anything, so he doesn’t. We sometimes want God to prove himself with miracles, but the way we really know that Jesus is the Son of God is through the love God and Jesus show us.
