Lutheran Church of Honolulu’s teenage youth group meets is active throughout the year. They meet alone as a group, but also meeting regularly with teens from other congregations on the islands.
The monthly regular program is through the Oahu Youth Group. The program varies every month and rotates between multiple churches for some form of “God, Grinds and Games!” The Oahu Youth Group is a large group of teens and youth leaders from other ELCA churches as well as Episcopal Churches from the Diocese of Hawaii.
LCH is also a part of a Lutheran youth organization called, OYEA (Oahu Youth Education and Activities). OYEA hosts over night retreats, service projects and other fellowship events for the teens. OYEA organizes youth groups to attend larger Lutheran youth events that happen on the mainland, such as Western States Youth Gathering. OYEA also works to provide a summer week long overnight camping experience for teens held on Oahu’s northshore.
