During the summer months (June 1 to August 10, 2008), LCH has one Sunday morning worship at 9:15 AM. This service uses elements from both morning worship styles. Christian Education for all ages follows at about 10:30. Nursery care is provided from 9:00 AM until the end of Christian Education.

Holy Communion—Sunday mornings at 8:00 AM (9:15 AM during the summer)

The 8:00 Ensemble leads the music at our early worship serviceIn this family worship, we gather with joyous contemporary music to praise God and prepare for our service in the world.

The ensemble of singers and instrumentalists—guitar, flute, and piano—lead us to sing our hopes and beliefs.

Pastor Jeff Lilley distributes communion at the altar rail. Our pastor teaches us about God’s love as revealed in Holy Scripture, both in a special children’s conversation and in the adult sermon.

And we all gather around the Table to share in God’s feast of love. We hope you will join us.

Nursery care is provided from 7:45 AM until noon, and Christian Education for all ages follows at 9:10.

Compline—Sunday evenings at 9:00 PM

The Compline Choir singing by candle lightThe mystical sounds of Gregorian chant fill the candle-lit sanctuary for Compline each Sunday evening. This half-hour service, which Honolulu Magazine recognized as the best place in town to count the liturgical hours, is a perfect way to end the day and prepare our hearts and souls for the week to come.

In our discussion group before Compline, we have an informal study of the themes of that evening’s service and other topics of interest to the group. We invite you to join us for the discussion at 8:30 or to be a part of the congregation for the service.

Chuck Pearson, faithful member of the Compline congregation, has prepared a brochure that describes the elements of Compline and gives some background information about the service (PDF).
