The Pentecost banner shows a descending dove wrapped in a swirl of flames. The flames, of course, are a unifying motif for this set of paraments. The dove is another symbol of the Holy Spirit, perhaps best know from the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ baptism (Matthew 3:16, Mark 1:10, Luke 3:22, John 1:32).
