About 25 youth from six O‘ahu churches gathered at Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park on Saturday, September 9, for fun in the sun.

Among the adults was Intern Pastor Derek from St. John’s, Kailua, who survived his first OYEA adventure.

The lazy river

Pastors and chaperones got wet, too, more often in the “lazy river”...

Grace before lunch

Participants gathered under a palm to say “Jaws grace,” which many had learned at Camp Wapo, and then had their pick from the fast food menu.

Down the big slide

Several then decided to race down the 4-channel Volcano slide on mats and on the 2-channel slide on their backs. Everyone was a winner that day!

The OYEA event for October is the Nu‘uanu-Judd trail hike, and they hope to have even more youth join in the fun.
