LCH Stewardship 2012—Temple Talk by Fred Paul Benco
Be Passionate: Join Us in Our Mission One Pledge Campaign!
Good Morning! My name is Fred Benco, and I would like to invite you to tell us why you are “passionate” about the Lutheran Church of Honolulu.
LCH needs your “passion” because we are beginning two pledge drives simultaneously. First, we are beginning our annual 2012 pledge drive to operate and expand LCH ministries for 2012. For example, we would like to serve food twice a month at IHS, not just once a month.
We are also beginning a second, 2-year pledge drive seeking $250,000 in pledges for an associate pastor, for paving the back parking lot, and for covering the Hörmann Courtyard.
In order to succeed on both pledge drives, we will certainly need passion. That is why our theme is: What is it about LCH that we are passionate about?
Personally, I’m most passionate about LCH’s wonderful Christian education program and its potential. We already have a first-rate group of knowledgeable teachers. I wish all of you would visit one or more of our Sunday classes—even if only for 10 or 15 minutes—to see our dedicated teachers guide our young people towards a Christ-centered faith, a faith that will blossom into a loving and fruitful church and community long after we are gone.
What about LCH are you most passionate about? And, can your passion move you to pledge to both—or either—of our pledge drives? We know that LCH has many, many passionate members. Please be passionate about making a pledge or pledges during our October pledge drives. Mahalo.
