Summary: In today’s Gospel, Jesus and the disciples are with a big crowd, and everyone is hungry. So Jesus feeds them all with five loaves and two fishes, and there is lots left over. We see something similar when we put out the shopping cart here at church and it fills up with food for the hungry. This is a miracle we see all the time when people share what they have.

Summary: Today I need your help getting our altar platform as squared away. We need to look at things from time to time and fix them up this way. In our first lesson, Amos calls on the people of Israel to do the same thing with a plumb line—a thing that helps us make sure a building is straight up and down. In our lives, we have different kinds of plumb lines—laws and the Ten Commandments, for example—but the best one if the love of God that we can measure ourselves with.

Summary: In today’s Gospel, Jesus and the disciples go across a sea in a boat, and there’s a great storm. Everyone else is afraid, but Jesus is sleeping in the back of the boat. The disciples wake him up, and he calms the sea. No matter how crazy life is around us, Jesus is with us, and we can feel safe.

Summary: You didn’t bring your favorite things to put in my red box, so we’ll use the markers the children brought earlier. This is Trinity Sunday, and what do these markers tell us about the Trinity? We can draw pictures of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but they don’t really show everything. In the end, it’s all about how God loves all of us.
