Time after Pentecost • Lectionary 17—July 24, 2022

Preacher: Pastor Bree Lloyd
Summary: Today’s Gospel talks about being persistent in prayer. Recently you may have heard about a man who pushed a peanut all the way up Pike’s Peak with his nose, so I thought we’d experience that kind of persistence with a peanut race. As you experienced, it was not easy, but each one of you persevered. Sometimes life gets hard, but we need to be persistent.

Time after Pentecost • Lectionary 16—July 17, 2022

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: In our second lesson from Colossians, Paul writes that the people in that church just need to look to each other to find Christ. But sometimes we find that hard. If we remember that God loves each of us and look through the window of the cross of Jesus, we can see Christ in each other.

Time after Pentecost • Lectionary 15—July 10, 2022

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: Today’s Gospel story of the Good Samaritan helps us understand who is a good neighbor. We tend to want our neighbors to fit into a box that we have constructed, but that doesn’t work. We need to set aside the boxes we have made and love everyone as our neighbor, just as God loves each of us.

Time after Pentecost • Lectionary 13—June 26, 2022

Preacher: Pastor Bree Lloyd
Summary: This story about Thomas the Train shows us how we can deal with change. We cannot just stop our lives when things happen. We can look for other options or ask others for help. And we can support each other in working out options.

Time after Pentecost • Lectionary 12—June 19, 2022

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: We all have times in our lives when we think people don’t like us, but we have each been given a gift in our baptism that affirms that we are each beloved children of God. No matter what anyone says or does, each of you and all of us are bound together in God’s love. This is something to remember every day.

The Holy Trinity—June 12, 2022

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: Let’s make a painting with symbols to represent God. We can paint some birds, or maybe plants and trees or even rabbits and bees. God can be in all kinds of places, and God is in you and even in the church.
