Pentecost—May 15, 2016

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: Today is Pentecost, the birthday of the church, when the Holy Spirit came to the disciples in a mighty wind and with fire. God was handing over the church to the disciples and to all of you. If we asked you to explain how to take care of church, you would have a hard time know what to say. But the Spirit is with us to guide us.

We expect this children’s conversation to be available soon.

Ascension Sunday—May 8, 2016

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: Today is Ascension Sunday, when we remember Jesus going up into heaven. But Jesus did not leave the disciples alone. Jesus left them with the word of God and the promise that the Holy Spirit would come at Pentecost. And God does not leave us alone either; God is always with us.

We expect this children’s conversation to be available soon.

Easter VI—May 1, 2016

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: In today’s Gospel, Jesus says he is going away and .promises to send the Holy Spirit. We can’t describe the Holy Spirit, so we use symbols like the dove hanging in the back. But we don’t always have to represent the Spirit by a white dove. Here are some paper doves and crayons so you can each make it look like the way you think of the Holy Spirit.

This children’s conversation did not get recorded for technical reasons.

Easter V/Earth Day Sunday—April 24, 2016

Preacher: Peter Flachsbart
Summary: Today’s first reading was about planting trees, so I bought this tree to plant. Trees bring many benefits, but there are also lots of things to consider so that we can match a tree with the place we want to plant it. So let’s pick the right tree for the right place as we care for God’s creation.

We expect this children’s conversation to be available soon.

Easter IV—April 17, 2016

Preacher: Pastor Steve Jensen
Summary: People probably tell you from time to time that you’re not listening. It’s not because you can’t hear but because you’re not paying attention or they’re saying something you don’t want to hear. In today’s Gospel, Jesus says something like that to the people because he has a message different from the one they’re looking for. They needed to follow Jesus and do God’s will, and so do we.

Easter III—April 10, 2016

No children’s conversation this Sunday.

Easter II—April 3, 2016

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: In today’s Gospel, Jesus appears to the disciples in the locked room. He says, “Peace be with you” and breathes on them. It’s hard to believe in something that we can’t see, like the wind or our breath. With this a pinwheel, you can see your breath. Try it and think about the spirit moving in your lives.

We expect this children’s conversation to be available soon.

Easter Sunday—March 27, 2016

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: I found this box to explain what Easter is all about, and it’s inside this plastic egg. You see, it’s empty just like the tomb was empty on the first Easter. Inside that empty tomb, we find the promise of God’s love.

We expect this children’s conversation to be available soon.
