Sunday of the Passion, Palm Sunday—April 9, 2017

Dramatic Passion Gospel, no children’s conversation.

Lent V—April 2, 2017

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: In today’s Gospel, Lazarus dies and is buried. Being dead is like this dried up palm frond. A few days later, Jesus goes there, calls Lazarus out of the tomb, and tells the people to unbind him fro the funeral cloths. Jesus calls us to unbind people from the cares that wrap them up. They can be free and alive like the green palm fronds outside our window.

Lent IV—March 26, 2017

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: Today we heard how Jesus healed a blind man, so I brought this big bag so you can experience what it’s like not being able to see. Jesus brought light to the man, and Jesus brings light to our hearts when we believe.

Lent III—March 19, 2017

No children’s conversation given.

Lent II—March 12, 2017

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: Today we heard about Nicodemus who came to Jesus at night because he didn’t want anyone to know he believed in Jesus. It doesn’t make sense to keep the news about Jesus secret. That is the news that God loves the world and sent Jesus. The world includes you, and that’s what you need to remember.

Lent I—March 5, 2017

Preacher: Pastor Jeff Lilley
Summary: Our first lesson comes from Genesis. You remember how Geneisis begins with God creating everything, and God said that everything was good because it did what it was meant to do. In today’s lesson, Adam and Eve forgot they were created as God’s children, and that was a problem. We pray that each of you remembers God’s purpose for your life.
